So.... I ran my 3rd marathon at the age of 24 in 3.40 hr =) Very glad that all the hard training pays off. I would say I ran the first 10miles with my legs, the next 10 with my head and the last 6.... definitely in the heart! Here are some interesting facts on my results! http://www.runpix4.com/arace8/08/lon14/finord_one.php?id=29840&ad=007%7C007&dt=42&ev=lon14 Pleased to be in the top 19% overall, 9% of the women and the only Thai person in London Marathon this year! From the start line to 10th mile..... "LEG" I was standing there..... in zone 3 of the green start. Very lucky with the starting point as I was assigned around people who would be running at a similar pace to me. Saw the elite runners on the big TV screen and the gun went off exactly at 10am, May the journey began! (Demon)Legs felt absolutely amazing this morning, which was a relief as they were quite heavy on Saturday jog. I felt great too, a bit sluggish at the beginning but I knew my tank was full. Got carried away with the mass of runners. Was supposed to held 5.15min/km at the beginning according to coach Zack but ended up being very naughty going at 5min/km (sorry.... ><!). Didnt felt it was that fast at all tthough, quite surprised looking down at my Garmin and thought GPS wasn't working properly at one point. Decided to stick to the pace and felt like flying. Managed to stick to the 3.30hr pacer until the other pacers turned up too, got confused hence I stopped follow them and run by myself. Missed the water station around 4th mile, very grateful as one of the guys spotted this and handed me some water without me asking. Thank you very much!! 10th-20th mile..... "HEAD" Still felt amazing, half-way was reached in 1.46hr. Was very pleased with the progress so far. Thinking of people who have been supporting me made it a lot easier to keep my legs turning. Legs now getting a bit tired, could started to feel my left hip but the left knee that had been niggling me for the past couple of weeks felt surprisingly ok. When your body started to get tired and send the signal to your brain to STOP.... then the work is handed over the brain to suppress this, stay positive and keep going. This is why I said I ran with my "head" between 10th to 20th mile. (และหยุดบ่นได้แล้ว :P) But....always expect the unexpected in long races, at around mile 18/19 I started to feel sick in my stomach. I usually have this at the beginning of the runs and I could always run it away. This time was different and it was getting worse and worse! The last 6.2 miles...what's left in the "HEART" It had become clear that this sickness was refusing to leave me alone. I felt worse and worse.... okay 2 options, I could stop to throw up (ie get rid of this thing!!) and tried to get back to the pace or to slow down to kept everything inside!! I opted for the second one, which I thought was the right decision as it wasn't worth risking electrolytes and if I couldn't stop vomiting then DNF would be on my forehead! Everything refused to go in, even a sip of water. I ended up spitting/regurgitating everything I tried to put in my mouth. My favourite jellies didn't work too.... got very fed up so I threw the rest away! I knew it was gonna be the toughest 6 miles of my life, regarding the condition I was in. Couldn't take in gels and water felt like a death sentence but all I knew was I would never ever give up nor stop. It would have to be over my dead body. It became harder and harder as fighting the nausea made me lose the concentration to keep my tired legs turning and suppressing pain but stopping?? HELL NO! Got to about 2.5 miles before the finish, saw a guy who gave up and started to walk so I gave him a little tap on the back. Best decision ever!!! He started to run again and I got company the next kilo-meter (yay! I got a friend!) then I realised I lost him. I looked back, to find him walking again around 20m behind so.........I ran back, grabbed his arm and said "let's go!". Then he started to run :') [got a background cheering from the crowd at this point but I was feeling too crap to appreciate it at the time]. I didn't want to leave him because I felt like doing the same thing, start walking but we came so close so it's important not to give up!! 555 Despite dropping the pace and only managed 1 and a half tube of jellies in total of the run (plus 20m backwards), I was very pleased to run a PB still, of 3.40hr. But I would have to say... that was the SHITTIEST 6 miles of my life LOL! Finally I would like to say big "Thank you" to everyone who supported me, from Thailands, all the triathletes/runners and Leicester Medical school. Definitely owe you guys for this achievement!
สุดท้ายนี้ นิอขอบคุณทุกๆคนทั้งครอบครัว และ เพื่อนๆที่สนับสนุนและเป็นกำลังใจให้นะคะ และแน่นอนว่าสที่เยี่ยมที่สุดคือการได้รับเงินบริจาคให้มูลนิธิ Thai Children Trust ประมาณ 60,000บาท เป็นการช่วยเหลือน้องๆที่เมืองไทยค่ะ :) (And thank you Bonnie Lam, my good old friend for coming down to support me and tell me ghost story pre-race night :p!! haha) And the best part was I have raised £1,287.84 for Thai Children's Trust!! THANK YOU GUYS!!!! =)

East Leake Triathlon quick recap This was my first triathlon of my life last year (which was -2C cold haha). I came back here to see how many minutes i can knock off. The course was 400m pool swim, 21K on a bike and 5K run and I did it in 1.20hr last year. This year I was not in the best shape doing it as marathon training takes priority and I'm not in my peak form. My legs and body were a bit tired from the long run and the hard training that has been building up! (Yes, coach Z has been working me hard =P) My swim was a bit disappointing as I had the same pool time as last year (just under 7 mins). I would say I had a decent bike I didnt get taken over by any lady but only couple of the guys (compared to everyone last year, lol!). Legs were absolutely painful and knacked on the run, with 1 minute extra from last year but not going to beat myself up as I have been doing lots of long runs. Completed the course in 1.14hr, which was almost 6 minutes faster than last year. It's ashamed that they lost my official splits but I won over my old self and that's what important at the end of the day. =) (and yes, I was sent to 12K run after the race hehe) Ready for London Marathon! I have been training very hard for the past 3 weeks and very proud to say I have not missed a single session. I have been running a total of 253km in the past 3 weeks, plus more hours on the bike and in the pool. Having a few niggles, including my left knee but got it checked and massage regularly is helping a lot. Glad there is nothing serious, Rocktape and foam roller are definitely a life saver! did all I could now. Looking forward to tapering (and eating) next week. All the hard work was done. My plan is just going into it with a positive attitude as always, treat is as another long run and enjoy the atmosphere! I just want to say that I'm very proud to be a Thai person running in London Marathon and raising money for Thai Children's trust, which is a charity in UK who helps children in my country. Furthermore, as everyone knows, it's difficult to get a spot in London Marathon but I "earned" this spot via "Good-for-age" entry, using my PB Leicester Marathon 2012 time of 3.42hr so I "qualified" for it. What a prestige to be running this race! General training wise, I have been very pleased with my progress (not sure about what coach Z thinks haha :p) It has been tough, not only physically but mentally (Mostly!!!) too! However, every morning I had put my running shoes on I knew I would "do my best" today, and that's the consistent effort I have put in every single session by far. I was very shocked that I could now hold 4.57min/km pace for 12km run comfortably. Love it when hard work pays off! (but looking at the session at first and thought is coach Z trying to kill me? haha :p). There were mornings where I walked like a grandma, my legs were stiff and painful to move but I guess it's all about being tough, suck it up and crack on because there is no room for an "EXCUSE" in my dictionary!
