Sorry everyone who has been following my blog for not updating for quite a while. There was a lot going on so I will just drop you a quick summary and what's coming up next. Things haven't been going well for my last two races. Unfortunately, they were those things I didn't really have much of a control of. Before anything else, I would like to say thank you very much to my friends, family, sponsors and everyone for all kind messages and good vibes. After coming back from Australia, I successfully defended my Thai-Elite title at Toyota Bangsaen Triathlon, the Master. Backing this up with a solid result and in Davao 70.3, strong race with a podium finish coming 2nd in my age-group. As May approached, I was really confident and was in the best shape of my life after a good build up towards my first Ironman Subic Bay in June. We have Ironman 70.3 Danang 3 weeks before to check-in and I was super ready for it. In Danang, I got though a bumpy swim with no hassles but that left me a bit sea-sick on the bike. I remained super patient and waited for it to settle, then my power came right back after 35km. I was picking up the pace and started to hammer my way back through the course. Then I hear a "Clang!" and a "Bang!" at about 50km...my back wheel went over a metal and I had a big cut (that my little finger could go through) in my tyre. Tried to fixed it as quickly as possible by putting my used gel packet over it. My tyre came back up, I got back riding but it went flat again the next 5 km. After another attempt (and trying to convince the mechanic that I could fix this!), by putting 2 gel packets together and seal it... I got going again. Have already lost my lead and a lot of time. The combination of trying to get back and not knowing how long my tyre would last, I ended up riding too hard and dehydrated (forgot about nutrition)...and the run didn't end too well. Moving on from that, I got back into training and went into Ironman Subic Bay in the best shape of my life....but unfortunately the day didn't turn out so well for me. Did not feel great on the bike and as we all know the, condition didn't help! Took it calm and steady to get through the bike safely....actually felt ok at the start of the run until I started to throw up with abdominal muscle cramps. Cut the long story short, it didn't stop and I could not keep anything down. Ended up dehydrated and almost fainted mid-way through the run. The volunteers called the ambulance and the doctor didn't let me continue. It's frustrating but not worth getting frustrated about. It's more important for me to focus on the big picture and appreciate all the improvements I have made in training....and of course there are plenty more races to come!! It was lovely to spend the past two weeks at home, being pampered by plenty of love and support from my family, friends and sponsors. But it's now time to TTFU.....on my way to training camp with Boss in St. Moritz. Keep smiling, onwards and upwards. Cheerios.
